About the Workshop

Besides developing our race car Formula Student competition, HKU Racing also develop different education programs aiming to deliver the knowledge we have and promote motorsports & automobile engineering to the next generations of Hong Kong. We believe that it is part of our social responsibility.

The suspension system is a critical component of a vehicle that connects the vehicle’s body to its wheels and tires and then to the ground, providing a smooth and comfortable ride while also ensuring stable handling and control. The design and the tunning setup strongly affect the performance of a race car. A well-designed and well-tuned suspension system can absorb shocks and vibration from the road. Meanwhile, it also keeps the vehicle stable by maintaining proper tire contact with the road, improving traction and handling. It is extremely important to have a well-designed and well-tuned suspension system on a racing car to ensure its drivability and speed.

On March 10, 2023, HKU Racing hosted a STEAM education workshop at Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School for two classes of Secondary 3 students there, introducing them about the fundamental knowledge on suspension system, and let them have a hands-on experience on tunning the suspension system of the race car on professional rc cars themselves and race against their classmate.
