About the speaker

Professor David PASSIG

Professor David Passig is a futurist, lecturer, consultant, and best-selling author specializing in technological, social, and educational futures. Professor Passig is a Full Professor at Bar-Ilan University (BIU), Ramat-Gan, Israel, where he teaches at the Graduate Faculty of Education. His courses include Systems Theories, Future Methodologies, and Technological, Social, and Educational Futures. He heads the faculty’s Virtual Reality Laboratory, where he conducts studies in VR and Brain-Computer-Interface. Professor Passig has consulted for many corporations and public and private sector institutes. He is the chair of FutureCode Ltd., a company that develops and employs toolkits of computerized Futures methods for decision-making. He is the Co-founder and chief evangelist of Thinkz LTD, which develops Social IoT platforms. He has consulted in Israel, Asia, Europe, and North America. He has served as the chief advisor to the Commissioner for Future Generations in the Israeli Knesset. Among his many activities, he is a member of the Israeli National Council for R&D. Professor Passig’s best-selling books are The Future Code, 2048, Forcognito – The Future Mind, The Fifth Fiasco, and The Future Self. Each has received Israel’s coveted Gold Book Award, www.passig.com. Professor Passig holds a Ph.D. in Futures Studies from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

About the project

Multifunctional Filters for Protecting Public Health

Clean water and clean air are vital for public health. This project focuses on developing high-efficiency and environmentally sustainable filters for removing harmful air/water pollutants. The team has developed novel architectures and functionalities for the filters to achieve high permeance, high removal efficiency, and excellent reusability.
