Flexible electronics is a totally new technological field sharing equal performance with traditional microelectronics. It has unique features such as transformability, portability, light-weight, and large-area application, etc. It is a highly integrated form of disruptive technological innovation. Industrial Internet is a result of the new generation of information technology integrated with manufacturing, which is now driving industrial economy forward from digitalization to closer networking and smarter development. “Flexible Electronics+” will lead the future scientific and technological development of China, improve China’s national competitiveness, and mutually promote the deep integration of networking with smart development and high-quality industrial development. It can give a powerful boost to China’s switch from a big power to a strong power, which is significant in changing the global economic, profit and safety patterns.

About the speaker

Professor Academician Wei Huang

Professor Wei Huang is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and an International Member of the National Academy of Engineering, USA. Professor Huang is an eminent scientist in the areas of organic optoelectronics, plastic electronics, intelligent electronics, health electronics, and flexible electronics. He chairs the State Laboratory of Flexible Electronics and is Chief Scientist of the National Basic (Frontiers) Science Center for Flexible Electronics of China. Professor Huang is a world-leading scholar in the field of flexible electronics, and he is regarded as “the father of electronics” for his unique contribution to the founding and development of organic electronics, plastic electronics and bioelectronics. He has published more than 1000 papers on world leading scientific journals such as Nature, Science, with over 200,000 international citations and an h-index of 200.

Multifunctional Filters for Protecting Public Health

Clean water and clean air are vital for public health. This project focuses on developing high-efficiency and environmentally sustainable filters for removing harmful air/water pollutants. The team has developed novel architectures and functionalities for the filters to achieve high permeance, high removal efficiency, and excellent reusability.
