Project information

The integrated design system achieves automated spinal cage optimization design without the need for manual intervention and it can make customized design for different patients.

Novelty

  •       An integrated CT scanning and automatic modeling system of spine is established.
  •       An automated multi-scale topology optimization system of spinal cage is established.
  •       The feasible and upgraded additive manufacturing solutions are investigated.
  •       The optimization efficacy is evaluated and validated. 2D and 3D digital image correlation methods (DIC) are used to preliminarily evaluate the  optimization efficacy of the topology-optimized steel joint structure.
